About NC Smart Girl

I have been a registered Republican since my 18th birthday, and proudly cast my first-ever vote for Ronald Reagan.  Never once did I or have I ever questioned my choice.  In each subsequent election I have voted for the Republican candidate because, in my opinion, that person was the better suited for the job of running the United States.  Note I did not say I have always thought that person was the best person.  But of two valid choices I consciously choose the candidate I feel has the most integrity, compassion, skill, knowledge, experience, constitutional loyalty and character to make him or her fully competent to handle the job of President of the United States of America.

Although I am not a fan of heated debate (as a participant), I have realized in the past few months that my voice is important.  That I do have something valid to say.  That my country depends on me to speak my mind — and join with others who share my views on what we see is in the best interest of this country and of all her citizens.  One morning in April I awakened and realized I was experiencing the same anger and frustration I experienced on the morning of September 11, 2001 — as I watched the World Trade towers crumble to the ground. “How DARE they do this to MY country?” That day I acknowledged I am no longer willing to bite my tongue and tolerate the insidious opinions of the lefties I realized I was surrounded by.  I am silent no more.

I think the documents signed by the Founding Fathers were well thought out, brilliant, and full of ageless wisdom.  As I listen to the Constitution of the United States given less regard almost daily, it fuels my aggravation and agitation with modern American politics.  The liberal left has gone off the left edge.  The moderate left is now the far left.  The conservative moderates have crossed the line to center left.  The few conservatives at far right have become the center right minority.  My mission is to forward the movement to restore the principles of republicanism to the Republican Party.  It still has a right to be considered the Grand Old Party.

As American citizens we have an obligation to hold our politicians to account.  The government is, from the very beginning, intended to be “of the people, for the people and by the people.”  We The People have sold ourselves out.  We have not held the government accountable for their outrageous spending, for their nonchalance in re-writing the Constitution, for allowing the Supreme Court to all too often rule from the bench instead of from the Constitution, for following the written word of law, for allowing minority opinions to coerce God out of school prayer and off of public buildings, for trying to convince us that illegal immigrants have as much right as American citizens, and on and on and on.

I am mad.  Many Americans are mad.  It is not too late to take a stand and do everything in our power to stop the madness and insanity of pending policy that will cause potentially irreversible harm to the land and peoples we love.  I now stand firm.  I now stand willing to act.  I now stand proud in my commitment to preserve individual liberties so that the youngest members of my family may enjoy the benefits of this country as I knew them.  I am NOT WILLING to let the Pledge of Allegiance be tossed in the wind.  I love and “pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the REPUBLIC for which it stands, one nation under GOD, indivisible, with liberty and justice for ALL.”

I’m so proud to stand with you, my friend! I hope that more people can find the kind of courage that you have and start speaking out – and screaming, if they have to!

    Don’t tread on us!!!

DITTO! I got into a political conversation the other night (Who? Me?) with a gay Liberaltarian. He said that EVERYONE votes with only themselves in mind. I disagreed. I told him that I vote for the person that is best for EVERYONE. I happen to be part of everyone and that conservatives are best for everyone.
